Ettan, meaning "breath" in Sanskrit, opened in downtown Palo Alto in February 2020, pioneering Cal-Indian cuisine that surveys regional classics across India and seamlessly blends those with California's seasonal ingredients. Housed in a design-forward bi-level dining space, the concept reimagines Indian cuisine through a modern, globally-informed lens.
Named a Michelin Guide California New Discovery in 2021, Ettan has been listed in the Guide since. The restaurant was featured on the San Francisco Chronicle's "Top 100 Restaurants in the Bay Area" and profiled by Architectural Digest, Robb Report, Eater, and The Mercury News, among others.
