Copra is inspired by the shared coastal cultures of South India’s Kerala and Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka – regions separated by the narrow Palk Strait yet connected through history, trade, and tradition. Chef Sri’s most personal restaurant, it celebrates the vibrant cuisines of his upbringing, reimagined with California's seasonal ingredients.
At the heart of the concept is coconut, the defining ingredient of these seaside kitchens. Copra, the dried coconut kernel used to extract coconut oil, becomes both name and metaphor: a symbol of origin, connection, and continuity.

To honor the culinary heritage of the southern Indian coast and Sri Lanka while translating it into a contemporary dining experience where tradition, design, and global perspective meet with quiet sophistication.
